New York Trip Notes (by Dick)

I (Krista) got this in my mailbox with two Jimmy Buffett CDs ...

1. Check your drivers license and make sure it is not expired. You cannot get on the plane with an expired license. Kaylee, you do have a license, don’t you?

2. Pack one bag and one carry on.

3. Bring walking shoes as we will be walking a lot. Also, bring decent clothes for the day at the Lion King.

4. Bring a Parrot Head outfit for the Jimmy Buffet concert. Hawaiian shirts are OK. There will be a prize for the best outfit.

5. With our motel, we get access to a health club next door. This will be a good way to ease the shower load as we are getting only two rooms.

6. I will be sending everyone a Jimmy Buffet CD to listen to before the trip. Please spend time listening as it will make the concert much better. There will be a trivia contest in the Denver airport during our layover. Prizes will be awarded.

7. Bring a good attitude. No fights. No politics.

8. Mom can only drink beer. No hard liquor. It makes her argue.

9. Kari has volunteered to buy dinner one night. Tavern on the Green? French fries are only $8.00. Check it out on the web.

This trip began as a Jimmy Buffet getaway. Mainly a payback for making you kids listen to Jimmy Buffet growing up. Please keep the Buffet Parrothead theme alive and relax and have fun. Even me.

There are schedules but there will also be free time.

Sunday-Arrive and Empire State Building—Times Square

Monday-Yankee game at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The House that Ruth built. 1:00. Leave for the game about 10:00 AM.

Tuesday-Wall Street, Statue of Liberty, Ground 0, Ellis Island. On the way back, Chinatown and Little Italy (dinner).

Wednesday-Lion King at 2:00. Grease with Taylor Hicks at 8:00 pm. Walking distance. Dress nice casual. Times Square.

Thursday-Central Park AM. Free time until concert. Jimmy Buffet concert at 8:00 PM. Across the street from the Hotel ShPennsylvania.

Friday-Back to South Dakota and Idaho.

Times Square is approximately a 10 minute walk from Hotel ShPennsylvania.

Let us know in your research of NYC if you want to go anywhere else.
